Insecurity: NSCDC Zone J Commander calls for improved intelligence gathering

..set to launch Rapid Respond Squad

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Zone J Commander in charge of Osun, Ondo and Ekiti State; Assistant Commandant General Adeyinka Fasiu Ayinla has reiterated on the need for an improved, credible and proactive Intelligence gathering in order to curtail the overwhelming rate of Criminality in the Country.

ACG Adeyinka affirmed this statement during his routine tour to the State Commands under his jurisdiction saying that the only way to key into and support the efforts of the Commandant General, Ahmed Abubakar Audi PhD mni who in his action plan is poised to regig, revamp, rejuvenate and reposition the Corps to an enviable position both at the National and International status is to strengthen the Intelligence base of the Corps.

While addressing the Senior Staff Officers and other ranks in Ondo State Command, the Zonal Commander lauded the Commandant General for his magnanimity and unprejudiced gesture by considering a good number of personnel in the South West for Promotions after many years of waiting.

He also commended the level of transparency in the Promotion Examinations conducted since the assumption of duty of the NSCDC Commandant General.

The ACG in charge of Zone J further said the Osun, Ondo and Ekiti States under his watch will soon launch the Zonal Rapid Response Squad who having gone through requisite, thorough and rigorous Trainings would be deployed to combat crimes across the three (3) States.

He called for the support of the Government and the Critical stakeholders to collaborate with the NSCDC as the issue of Security has now become a Collective Responsibility which must not be taken with levity.

In furtherance, ACG Adeyinka re-affirmed the commitment of the NSCDC to Training and Re-training of Personnel for Man Power Development and Improved Performance as well as ensuring adequate Staff Welfare to enhance the discharge of her statutory mandates in Safeguarding all Critical National Assets and Infrastructure, Fighting Vandalism of Oil pipelines, Telecommunication Equipments and Power Installations, Monitoring of Private Guard Companies, Disaster Management amongst others.
