Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu SAN, and his deputy, Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa present their families, friends from home and abroad, party loyalists before God at the Anglican communion, St. Andrews Cathedral, Imola Diocese of Owo, today for second term Thanksgiving.
The Governor along his wife, Betty, his deputy, consecrated and anointed by the Archbishop, Metropolitan and Primate , Church of Nigeria Anglican communion, His Grace, the Most Rev’d Henry Ndukuba, was charged to steer the ship of the state in the second term with humility and gratitude.
The Primate, who acknowledged the developmental projects executed during his first term in office, enjoined him to be courageous, pray without ceasing, and meditate on the word of God, by so doing, the presence of God would be with him throughout the tenure.
He prayed that God give him faithful and dedicated officers for the second term journey, affirming that Ondo is beginning to see the goodness of God through his leadership. He said: “Your latter part shall be better than the former”.
Charging the governor not to forget where God picked him by always showing appreciation, Archbishop Ndukuba charged him not to take God’s grace for granted noting that God had raised him as the David of this time, using 2Samuel 18 to preach.
In his response, Governor who rendered Thanksgiving songs in an emotional manner, said he had nothing to say than to thank God for His grace upon him.
He thanked his mother, wife, and children for their support throughout the first term, while expressing hope that his new deputy would be an added advantage value to the government, and therefore, sought his full support and cooperation for a successful tenure.
The event was attended by traditional rulers in the state led by the Olugbo of Ugboland, Oba Frederick Obateru, the Olowo of Owo, Osemawe of Ondo Kingdom, Deji of Akure, Olowa of IgbaraOke, Olubaka of Oka-Akoko, among others.
