NSCDC Zone J Commander visits Ondo State, as Command deploys response team to curb violence in Isinigbo

The Zonal Commander, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Zone J, ACG. Adeyinka Fasiu conducted a 2-day failiarization tour to Ondo State Command on 10th-11th December, 2020.

The Zonal Commander was received by the Command helmsman, Commmadant Eweka Edenabu Okoro.


While in a brief meeting with the Heads of Department and Units, ACG. Adeyinka reiterated on the need to put in more effort in carrying out the mandate of the Corps: Safeguarding all Critical National Assets and Infrastructure, Disaster Management, Intelligence Gathering amongst others.

He stressed on the need to vehemently fight the menace of Sexual Gender Based Violence(SGBV), Human Trafficking, Child Abuse, Vandalism, Cattle rustling, and mediating between Herders and Farmers in the State.


ACG. Fasiu charged the Command to continue to Synegize with all Critical Stakeholders in the Security terrain. ” Your continous collaborations with Sisters Agencies will enhance more tactical approach in combating crime and making Ondo State peaceful for the inhabitants”.

The Zonal Commander procceded on a courtesy call to the Governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu who in his address requested that the NSCDC would take up the responsibility of Prosecuting Suspects to be handed over to them by the Ondo State Security Network (Amotekun).

Consequently on Friday 11th December, 2020 the Zonal Commander went to seek Royal Blessings at the Palace of His Imperial Majesty, Oba Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade Aladelusi Odundun II, Deji of Akure Kingdom who lauded the NSCDC Ondo Command for continous pro activeness and professionalism in handling security issues in the State.

The Deji of Akure also prayed for God’s blessings on the good people of Ondo, Osun and Ekiti State at large.

Familiarization tour was further paid to the Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone 17; AIG David O. Folawiyo psc+, mni.

While welcoming ACG. Adeyinka and his entourage, the AIG said the need for Synergy amongst Security Agencies cannot be undermined as it is a panacea to curtailing the high rate of criminality in the Nation.

He said that the Nigeria Police is ready to offer necessary assistance to the NSCDC by sharing Intelligence, Training/Seminals for personnel and sharing equipments so as to fulfil the mandate of protection of lives and property, enforcement of law and order amongst others.

ACG. Adeyinka expresssed his joy by the warmth reception given, reiterating that there has always been a water tight Synergy between Heads of various Security Agencies in Ondo State, hence he is happy that the relationship is currently being sustained.

He further pledged that the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Zone J comprising, Osun, Ondo and Ekiti under his watch will continue to collaborate with the Nigeria Police from time to time.


Meanwhile, the State Commandant of the NSCDC, has deployed tactical response team to curtail the ongoing violence in Isinigbo, Akure North Local Government Area Ondo State.

Information reaching the Command in the morning on Friday 11th December, 2020 suffice that about two persons have been killed and houses set ablaze at Isinigbo community in Akure North local government area of Ondo state over an alleged land dispute with a neighbouring town.

It was gathered that the attack was carried out in the midnight by suspected gunmen hired by a neighbouring community. Our men also gathered that the palace of the Asinigbo and some houses had been burnt down by unidentified hoodlums.

However, Commandant Eweka Edenabu has led a tactical response team to the Isinigbo Community and deployed NSCDC Personnel massively to provide adequate Security and Protection of lives and property.
