Communication is key to a successful union, Mrs Akeredolu tells newly-weds aide, spouse

The wife of Ondo State Governor Arabinrin Betty-Anyanwu Akeredolu was among the dignitaries who witnessed the wedding ceremony of Mr Rowland Onyeukwu, the Special Assistant to the governor on Social Media and his hearthrob, Janet Mgborokwu in Ikenegbu Owerri Imo state today.

Mrs Akeredolu advised them to prioritize constant communication to sustain the union, saying that marriage wasn’t a bed of roses but with understanding and Communication, they would surmount challenges.

She said: “Marriage is a thing of joy, marriage is a beautiful thing for every family that is witnessing it.

“The couple should realise that marriage is a journey, you are definitely going to face challenges in life as you travel along the marriage journey. It’s ups and downs; though the road is beautiful, there are thorns.

She, therefore, encouraged them that with carefulness and by communicating with each other, they would experience a blissful union

“I now want to advise you that one of the tools that a new couple should use is Communication. I cannot emphasise it more than this. Communication is key to smoothen that rough road in marriage, says Mrs Akeredolu.

Reminding them that they were from different backgrounds and culture, the wife of the governor enjoined them on the need to arrive at common cause through Communication.

She added that quarrel would definitely ensued between them, but warned that one person must break the ice as soon as possible rather than giving room for malice.

Earlier at St. Peter’s Anglican Church Ikenegbu, where the holy matrimony took place, the officiating Minister implored the bride to respect the husband, while calling on the couple to plan things together and cooperate in the upbringing of their children to build a godly family.

It was a glamorous atmosphere later in Mgbala Agwa the residence of the pride’s parents, Bar. G. T. O Mgborokwu, former Chairman of Oguta local government area, where Mrs Akeredolu supervised the cutting of the cake.
