..We forgive the perpetrators-APC
..Nigerians should come to our aid in rebuilding our Secretariat- PDP
Following the wanton destruction of property across Ondo state by some miscreants who acted under EndSARS Protest, the two major political parties that were victims of the incident have expressed their perceptions of the whole scenario.
The hoodlums looted and set ablaze the APC and the PDP Secretariats, the State governor campaign office, and other public property across the state.
Addressing Ondo State Online News Publishers during separate visits to the leadership of the parties to sympathise with them and to see the level of damage done by the hoodlums, the Chairmen of the All Progressive Congress party and the People’s Democratic Party, both expressed dissatisfaction with the incident and emphasised the need for peace to reign in Ondo State.
The APC Chairman, Engr. Ade Adetimehin who hinted that the crisis was orchestrated by political thugs as so many campaign materials of the party were destroyed, however, noted that APC Family had forgiven the perpetrators for they know not what they’re doing.
He appealed to the genuine protesters to maintain peace saying in a situation like this, it was better for parties involved to embrace jar jar while admonishing the orchestrators of property destruction to think twice by realising that the state belong to everyone and shouldn’t be turned to an epicenter of crisis.
Adetimehin who was confident that the party would bounce back and overgrow the damage, noted that it was evident God is on their side considering the mandate given to APC by the people of the state at the just concluded gubernatorial election.
He reiterated the commitment of the party to ensure relative peace in the State, saying by antecedents, APC hadn’t been known for crisis, hence the reason the leadership of the party quickly rose to the task of suppressing the crisis.
He appreciated the move of the online Journalists, describing them as the best.
…Nigerians should come to our aid in rebuilding our Secretariat- PDP
During the tour of the Online News Publishers to the People’s Democratic Party Secretariat in Alagbaka Akure, all the workers, including the Chairman and his executives sat under the tree as all buildings in the compound were razed down by fire.
In his reaction, the party Chairman, Mr. Fatusi Adams appealed to well-meaning Nigerians to assist the party in rebuilding the Secretariat.
He also opined that only in the midst of peace would a state move forward while condemning the destructive attack.
He, however, commended Journalists in the state for a balanced reportage during the outbreak of the crisis and assured of the party’s ready to always identify with the Media.
