Nigerian President, Muhammad Buhari has urged the EndSARS Protesters to discontinue the ongoing protest and engage government constructively for lasting solution.
During his nationwide broadcast a few minutes ago, President Buhari said the voice of the protesters had been heard and should therefore shield their swords.
The President who said he was deeply pained by the incident, noted that they had fundamental rights to stage a peaceful protest to express their annoyance, but not at the detriment of other citizens’ rights to live.
He urged Nigerians to go ahead with their daily businesses, while instructing the security agents to protect citizens rather than killing them.
The President however urged members of the international community to verify and investigate the pandemonium to have adequate facts before making any hasty pronouncement about Nigeria.
Reeling out some programmes initiated by his administration to make life better for the citizens, Buhari appealed to the teeming youths to take advantage of some of such programmes designed for youths.
He described as uncalled for and unnecessary, the vandalism approach taken by the protesters across the country.
He reaffirmed the commitment of the Federal government to maintain unity among the regions in Nigeria and condemned the spread of falsehood on social media platforms.
