A twenty- six year old boy, Olufemi Emmanuel Olumeko has appealed to Nigerians to come to his rescue following a kidney disease that has reshaped his destiny.
Olufemi, a holder of National Diploma certificate in Business Administration from Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo is down with kidney disease which has rendered him practically useless.
The disease has halted his plan of becoming great and useful to the society.
He is currently undergoing dialysis at the Ondo state university of Medical Sciences Trauma center, Ondo in Ondo State for the past four weeks.
Medical experts at the hospital confirmed that his two kidneys are not performing to capacity.
Olufemi needs N9m for a kidney transplant at the Trauma Centre, Ondo.
Olufemi’s parents, Mr and Mrs. Olumeko, who retired as public servants on a joint monthly pension income of #30,000, said that they had been spending N40,000 every week for the dialysis.
The family which could not foot the transplant bill, appealed to Nigerians to help their son from dying from the disease.
Mrs Olumeko, the mother of the hapless boy said, “My Son has been dependent on dialysis for the past weeks. His definitive treatment is to have kidney transplant done of which the cost implication is an estimate of N9m. Kindly render the necessary assistance he might require in view of his health.”
To ensure morning is raised for the boy’s treatment, Mr Olumeko said an account has been opened for Olufemi where donations can be made.
