Sotitobire Saga: DSS officer testifies in court

In continuation of the case of Kidnapping leveled against prophet Alpha Babatunde of Sotitobire Church in Akure, the witness from the State Security Service, Mrs. Khadinat Oriyemi testified in court on Wednesday.

The agency indeed interrogated the church children department leader, one Madam Magret Oyetola, third defendant, over her involvement and what she knew about the sudden disappearance of the baby.

As gathered, she was cooperating before one Peter Anjorin destroyed evidence on her Samsung note 10 and Techno PL.

In his swift reaction to DSS official, the Counsel to the third Defendant, Barrister Ogidan said the agency lacks the constitutional right under section 12 subsection 1, of Administration of Criminal Cases of Ondo state.

The presiding Judge, Justice Olusegun Odusola, however, overruled him, stressing that as long as the agency had called on legal Aide counsel to represent the defendant and the statement she wrote was interpreted to her back to back, therefore, such matter should not be dragged.

The prosecution counsel, Mrs. Olowoporoku, therefore prayed the court to allow them to bring the last batch of their witnesses on Monday so as to give the case a speedy hearing.

The Judge, however, asked other counsels if Monday would be appropriate for them for adjustment which they all obliged and the case was adjourned till Monday 8, 2020 for further hearing.
