The Ondo state Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Dotun Owanikin Esq. has reiterated the commitment of the Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu (SAN) led administration to support youth initiatives targeted at human and state development.
He stated this while receiving an organisation of youths under the aegis of Youth Advancement Initiative (YAI) who paid him a courtesy visit in his office, in Akure, the state capital.
The Commissioner who was impressed with the objectives and initiative of the organisation said Government was ready to identify with serious group genuinely pursuing programmes and plans that enhance youth capacity building and development
He also commended members of the organisation for their inspiring initiative to support the government in its quest to make life better for the teeming population of youth and the larger society, noting that such objective was unique and uncommon among groups approaching government for partnership nowadays.
Earlier, the National President of the organisation, Ambassador Ade Mario Emma informed the Commissioner that the organisation had among other objectives the intention to empower young people for self reliance and also instill morals in them.
He expressed the organisation’s readiness to give maximum support to the present administration in all forms especially in actualising its plans for the youth, revealing that its members spread across all units in the 18 local government of the state thereby positioning it to help implement government’s plans and policies effectively.
As part of its contribution to cushion the effect of COVID-19 on the people, the organisation donated some kilograms of improved maize seeds to farmers in the northern senatorial district of the state for planting, stressing that its objectives include support for the society.
