RUGIPO’s financial crisis ‘ll be attended to, says Akeredolu as institution donates sanitisers, soaps to govt

The management of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo, RUGIPO, earlier today presented packs of sanitisers and hand washing soaps to Ondo state government as a contribution to the fight against the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.

Presenting the items to the governor on behalf of the management, at the State government house Alagbaka, the institution’s Rector, Mr. Gani Ogundahunsi noted that the products were produced by women in technical Education, a formidable group within the workforce of RUGIPO made up of enviable women.

Commending the Governor on his efforts at eradicating the scourge from spreading in the state, Ogundahunsi said: ” it is in this spirit that RUGIPO is complementing the good efforts of the Governor by donating these sanitisers and hand washing soaps”.

The Rector, therefore, thanked the Governor for his good leadership and kind consideration to RUGIPO in the production of nose masks.

Responding, Governor Akeredolu commended the vision of the RUGIPO Governing Council Board’s Chairman, Mr. Banji Alabi and members to standardise the institution.

He recalled that the Council chairman called him to notify him on the capability of RUGIPO Artisan centre in producing nose masks, and expressed delight that the 20000 accorded to the centre had been delivered.

He further said the production was shared among tailors in the 3 senatorial districts in the state but the interesting story was that RUGIPO was not left out of the scheme.

Akeredolu appreciated the donation and assured that prudent distribution will follow.
He, however, affirmed that the financial plights facing the institution had been presented by the chairman of the Governing Council and that such will receive necessary consideration.

The Governor advised individuals to stay safe, follow preventing measures and that appropriate awareness on the reality of corona virus be made known to the public.

He hinted that the economic status of the state had been affected by the corona virus and prayed that the scourge will cease on time so that losses could be restored.

ln attendance at the presentation are Mr.Samuel Ojo (PRO), Mr. ilugbami (Adm Ass to Rector) Engr (Dr.) Mrs Ojo, Co-ordinator WITED and a few others.
