Journalists are at the forefront of reporting updates of the outbreak of Coronavirus pandemic in their immediate environment due to the importance of their profession in the society.

Unlike their counterparts in the Western countries who were recognised as part of the essential workers that deserve special welfare package in a period like this, Nigerian journalists are on duty despite the stay-at-home directive but without special package.
