As the three day fasting and prayer declared by Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, against Coronavirus pandemic begins today, Christians across the state have been enjoined to fully participate in the exercise.
The State Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Rev. John Ayo-Oladapo who gave the directive in his reaction to the declaration, called on General Overseers, Bishops, Pastors and all religious leaders to encourage their members to partake in the exercise, which is for the betterment of all.
His words: “As a means to complement other proactive measures put in place by the Government to curtail the spread of COVID-9 pandemic, the Governor has requested that a 3 day Prayer and fasting be declared to specifically seek divine intervention for Ondo State.
“The Prayer starts from Thursday 2/4/2020 to Saturday 4/4/2020.
“We request all heads of Bloc of CAN, Bishops, General Overseers, Church Pastors and Local Government CAN Chairmen to mobilize all Christians under their watch to observe this prayer to pray for Ondo State and Nigeria in their respective homes”.
Ondo State government had, yesterday declared a three day fasting and prayer to appreciate God, and to seek further protection, being the only Southwest state with zero case of the deadly Coronavirus pandemic.
