The Chief Executive Officer of JATS Communications, publisher of JATS Online News, Miss Mary Olumuyiwa yesterday donated food items, and toiletries to Graceland Orphanage, LEO, Akure to mark her birthday anniversary.
This was in line with the mission of the Communication company which was fully registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission, to render community service along with information dissemination services.
According to the JATS Communications founder, she deemed it fit to celebrate with the private orphanage in order to help the organisation achieve its aim of giving hope to the motherless children and to encourage them that regardless of the situation they found themselves, they could still contribute to the development of the society.
She noted that, just as the full meaning of JATS (Just Ambitious To Serve), she decided to start fulfilling the major mission of the organisation in a little way, saying one doesn’t need to have one million or more in his/her savings account before impacting the lives of the less privileged ones.
Though, at the period of the visit, most of the children were in school, the younger ones were played with by JATS Communications’ entourage.
Graceland founder, Mrs. Yemisi Omotayo, therefore, commended JATS Communications for the unexpected visit to the orphanage to donate items for the upkeep of the children.
Mrs. Omotayo, who disclosed that she is solely responsible for the upkeep of the 15 abandoned children in her custody, appealed to well-to-do Nigerians to assist the organisation in providing the children the needed care they deserve.
