The Minister of State for Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Tayo Alasoadura has been commended for his intervention on the repair work on the ever busy Akure-Ado Road.
Residents along the road, and commuters who ply the Akure/Ado road heaved a sigh of relief following the commencement of repairs on the deplorable road by the Federal Government to alleviate the suffering of the people.
They expressed optimism that the road, when completed would bring a big relief to them from the effect of dust and damage to their vehicles and reduce, if not obliterate the activities of armed robbers and kidnappers who are using the very deplorable state of the road to promote their dastardly acts.
The residents of the area appreciated the intervention of the Minister, at ensuring the contract for the road were awarded, but pleaded with him to ensure it was completed in record time before the rainy season fully sets in.
Head, Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA), in Ondo State , Engr. Monday Usman affirmed that work commenced on the road in December 2019 upon the approval of Federal Government, and is expected to cover up four kilometer in the first instance, starting from Akure.
He stated that the federal government was fully in charge of the rehabilitation through FERMA, and not the governments of Ondo and Ekiti state states.
