Ifon Killing: NYCN condemns murder of a member, calls on security agencies to fish out perpetrators

The National Youth Council of Nigeria(NYCN), Ondo North Senatorial Zone today condemned the gruesome murder of an energetic and committed member of the Organization, Mr. Adebayo Emmanuel Orogun, by armed gangs right in his bedroom.

According to the reports that was gathered from some eye witnesses at home when the unknown armed gangs struck about 3:00am of Saturday 21st November, 2019, the gangs gained entrance into the house of the deceased through his kitchen window, upon the removal of the burglary proof.

They banged into his bedroom and wasted no time to fire a shot at him immediately. Our brother, Mr. Orogun, died on the spot.

The armed gangs thereafter descended on the wife, ransacked his home and went away with some items and all the available cash at home.

The apex Body of the Youth Organization is shocked and outraged by this ugly incident, state of insecurity and irreplaceable and irreparable loss of a dutiful, dependable, dedicated and committed Youth leader.

The Body calls on the Security agents in Ondo State to immediately and thoroughly investigate the incident and bring the perpetrators to justice.

Ifon town has lost a very responsible and responsive individual who was unrepentantly and consistently committed towards the uplift, progress and development of the community.

We extend our most heartfelt condolences to Mr. Adebayo’s family- the wife, kids, aged parents, the President, Ifon Development Union(IDU) and the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Ose LGA Chapter.

Signed. Comrade ‘Bode Alegbe,
Secretary, NYCN, Ondo North Senatorial Zone
