National Monitor’s report about RUGIPO misinforming- Magt

The Management of the Rufus Giwa Polytechnic Owo, Ondo state has described the recent publication captioned, “EFCC intensifies investigation of RUGIPO principal Officers*…as Ondo Gov orders them to recall sacked staff….term of reabsorption, not acceptable – Concerned Citizens of Owo” by an online medium as misinforming, inaccurate and full of distortions.

The Management, in a press release issued and made available to journalists in Akure through its Director of Public Relations, Mr. Samuel Ojo said the reabsorption order of Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu clearly stated that all disengaged teachers of the institutions staff primary and secondary schools be reabsorbed into the mainstream of the state teaching service.

The statement reads, “The management would have treated these biased reports with a wave of hand but for the need to set the record straight, protect the image of the institution and reputation of the personalities involved.

“One wonders when messr Ijawoye O. and Arikawe A suddenly become one of the disengaged teachers in the staff school as reported by National Monitor. This in itself shows the naively of the report. It would be recalled that the press statement which contained the reabsorption order was issued on Friday 6th November, 2019 by Senior Staff Association of Nigeria Polytechnic, the union representing the interest of the disengaged workers.

“This propaganda can not stand the test of time as everyone in the polytechnic community, host community and general public at large are convinced with the good performances of the Arakunrin Akeredolu led administration in transforming RUGIPO.

“The management remains unperturbed on frivolous, unfounded and spurious allegations of misappropriation as its operations are based on the extant rules in regulating of the affairs of the institution. The evidence of this transformation is visible enough, even to the blind. It is the only the duo of Oluwadare Ijawoye and Ade Arikawe that do not see any goodness in the system.

Whilst commending the magnanimity of our dear governor for giving succour and for having a listening ear to our situation, management is of the view that the EFCC should bring to book writers of falsehood whose job is to inform the public without onus of proof.

“Management of Rufus Giwa polytechnic therefore wishes to inform the general public to disregard the misleading piece of writing tailored propaganda, defamation of characters and disruption of public order in the institution. National Monitor is thereby advised to embrace rubrics of effective news reporting rather than propaganda”.
