Appointment of more female aides: Ondo NAWOJ commends Akeredolu

…charges political office holders to emulate him

The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists, NAWOJ, in Ondo state has commended Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, for the appointment of more women into his cabinet.

The Chairperson of the association, Mrs. Doris Olumoko in a release signed by the secretary, Patience Ibeh said the move reflects the governor’s interest in the development and empowerment of women in the state.

The statement adds that the gesture will open developmental doors for more women to participate in governance, and a good step in increasing female representation in the state.

NAWOJ, therefore, enjoined other political office holders to emulate the governor’s gesture by including females in their aides list.

Governor Akeredolu had yesterday released the names of four women as his Senior Special Assistants.

They are Mrs. Margaret Atere, SSA Women Affairs, Mrs. Akeju, SSA, Women mobilization (North), Mrs. Ronke Ojo, (Central), and Mrs. Morenike Alaka, (South).
