A magistrate court sitting in akure has remanded in the custody of the Nigeria correctional service, two persons, segun ijinija and mobalji Akande for allegedly forging and selling motorcycle and tricycle receipts in the name of the Ondo state government.
The two suspects were docked on a three count charge including forgery and conspiracy to commit felony which are contrary to and punishable under the criminal laws of ondo state.
Akande, a printer was nabbed in Ibadan while Ijinija and ex ACOMORAN officer was arrested in Ore following the confessional statement by their accomplice, Sunday Idowu, already standing trial for same offence before a high court in Akure.
While the suspects pleaded not guilty to the charges, the Police Prosecuting Counsel, ASP Emmanuel Tanimowo prayed the court to remand the suspects in the correctional service custody.
The Defence Counsel, Chris Fagbohun pleaded with the court to grant them bail on liberal terms or remand them in police custody.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs oluwakemi Dosumu however remanded them in the custody of the correctional service and directed the police to file the application for their remand before Monday when hearing will resume.
Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Strategy and Special Duties, Dr Doyin Odebowale whose office arrested the suspects, assured that government will pursue the case to a logical conclusion.
