RUGIPO PROTEST : ODSG SETS UP COMMITTEE OF INQUIRY

Following the recent pandemonium in Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo, RUGIPO by students of the institution which subsequently led to its closure, Ondo State Government has set up a committee of inquiry to that effect.
The State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu SAN, constituted a Four-Man Committee of Inquiry to look into the immediate and remote causes of the students rampage which resulted to massive destruction of property of the institution by the protesting students.
In a statement issued by the state commissioner for Information orientation, Mr Yemi Olowolabi, the Committee has Pastor Oyekan Arije as Chairman,Engineer Akintunde Aminu and Comrade Francis Falohun are members,while Mr. Olufemi O. Moyinolorun will serve as Secretary.
According to the statement, the Committee has the following as its Terms of Reference:
1. To look into the remote and immediate causes of the violent protest.
2.To determine the extent of damage done to the school and private properties and place cost on them
3. To determine those who had in one way or the other contributed to the unrest
4. To determine the reparation by each student
5. To make such other recommendations which the Committee may find necessary in the circumstances.
The Committee has three weeks to submit its report.
